About
Hey there!
My name is Mohamed Omar, and I’m from Ottawa, Canada. I’m a former university English lecturer with 22 years of teaching experience across multiple countries. As a mentor and guide, I’ve always been passionate about inspiring growth and helping others succeed.
During COVID-19, everything changed. Teaching online for two years took a toll on me. I thrive on face-to-face connections, and the shift to screens felt impersonal and detached.
One particular moment on Zoom became a turning point for me. I was teaching a class of medical students and asked one student to read a paragraph. He paused and said, “Hold on, Professor.” Curious, I asked him where he was. “I’m in the kitchen with my mother,” he replied. I asked, “What are you doing in the kitchen?” He casually responded, “I’m asking her something.”
That moment made me reflect on my purpose. I decided to move beyond academia and focus on helping people navigate the challenges of the post-COVID world. I launched 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐦 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 and 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 newsletter to share practical tips, life strategies, and personal development insights.
Today, I collaborate with founders, influencers, and organizations to create actionable self-development content and refine strategies for success. Born in East Africa and raised in Canada, my journey of migration and resilience shapes my unique perspective.
My mission is simple: to be a trusted guide, empowering individuals and organizations to thrive in work and life. Let’s connect and make amazing things happen together!
